Operation begins at Parliament Lodges to evict ‘de-notified’ PTI MNAs

The authorities on Friday began the operation to evict PTI members of the National Assembly (MNAs) from their accommodation in Islamabad’s Parliament Lodges following their de-notification, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The operation began under the supervision of a magistrate.
Locks of the lodges were broken in the presence of the commissioner and assistant commissioners.
The administration, however, gave PTI MNA Shandana Gulzar, time to vacate the flat, while seven MNAs of the party voluntarily vacated the lodges.
PTI MNAs, who were evicted from the lodges, were those who had been de-notified by the Election Commission of Pakistan following the acceptance of their resignations by the National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
PTI MNAs resigned from their seats in April 2022 en masse after the ouster of their party’s government as a result of the passage of the no-trust motion against then-prime minister Imran Khan.
