Panel to identify recovered patients at Lahore’s Mental Hospital

On the directives of Caretaker Punjab chief minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, the Department of Specialized Health on Friday constituted a seven-member committee to identify the patients who have recovered and make arrangements for sending them to their homes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The committee, to be headed by Dr. Saad Bashir Malik, will submit recommendations to the caretaker CM in 15 days. 

Other members on the committee are: Dr. Altaf Qadir, Professor Ali Madih Hashmi, Dr. Sumaira Qambar, Dr. Faiza Athar, Ayesha Manzoor and the executive director Mental Hospital. 

The committee will examine the health of Mental Hospital patients and will take steps to send them to their homes.  

The committee will also make recommendations for the monetary assistance of the patients who have recovered from their illness. 

CM Naqvi had visited the Mental Hospital a few days back in which he had taken notice that several patients were still at the hospital despite the fact that they had recovered.
