Rejecting Central Power Purchasing Agency’s (CPPA) request for Rs5.62 per unit increase, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Saturday announced Rs4.56 per unit increase in electricity prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
However, the notification issued by the NEPRA will not apply to lifeline consumers and electric vehicles’ charging stations.
The increase was announced under the fuel price adjustment for the month of December.
The hike will put an additional burden of over Rs39 billion on consumers.
