The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday gave a green signal to hold election for the seat of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Anwaar Hussain, after listening to the arguments, withdrew the stay order it had granted in the case.
The court also ordered clubbing together of all the petitions filed against the election.
Six days ago, on June 27, 2023, the Balochistan High Court (BHC), while granting stay, had ordered that the election in question would not take place until July 17.
The court did not hear the PCB's arguments and instead issued notices to all stakeholders to attend the next hearing.
Around 24 hours before the election that could have led to Zaka Ashraf becoming the PCB chairman, a number of writ petitions were filed in various courts to stop the election.
The Lahore High Court, on the other hand, has admitted at least three petitions, combining them into one, and adjourning their hearing.
