The Punjab health department has decided to outsource the MRI and CT Scan machines installed in the teaching hospitals of the provincial capital city, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to sources, Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department is going to outsource all C-Scan and MRI facilities set up in 13 teaching hospitals of Lahore and also allocated an initial fund of Rs 1 billion for the project.
The sources said that government has the target to improve health services delivery to patients after outsourcing the radiology departments to external parties.
There is an estimated cost of Rs 2 billion for outsourcing MRI and CT Scan tests, however, the government allocated one billion rupees for MRI and CT scan services. Rs 500 million each for MRI and CT Scan tests.
Likewise, the department also decided to outsource MRI and CT Scan machines of all DHQ Hospitals in the province. In this regard, the health department has also offered bidding documents to interesting parties.
