The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has filed a petition in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi, challenging the jail administration's failure to facilitate communication with his sons, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court, presided over by Judge Malik Ejaz Asif, has issued a notice to the jail authorities and demanded a response by July 3.
The petition, submitted by the PTI founder's legal representatives, advocate Raja Nabeel and Aqeel Khan, highlighted the lack of arrangements made by the jail administration for him to contact his sons, Qasim Khan and Salman Khan.
The petition argued that communication with his children is a constitutional and legal right, which has not been honored by the jail superintendent.
It details the PTI founder's grievances, stating that despite repeated requests, no facilities have been provided to enable conversations with his sons.
Furthermore, the jail administration has not arranged for any means of communication, including the use of WhatsApp.
The court has instructed the jail administration to submit a detailed response by July 3, explaining why the necessary arrangements have not been made.
