Shaniera, wife of Pakistan’s legendary cricketer and former fast bowler Wasim Akram, has penned a love-filled birthday note for her husband wishing him on his 56th birthday.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Shaniera shared a loved-up picture with Wasim Akram and wrote, “Happy 56th Birthday to my Sultan. Wishing you love, health and happiness. If we have that then we have everything!”
While the social worker also said, “Can t wait to see you soon. InshAllah!”
Wasim Akram was popularly known as the Sultan of Swing due to his lethal bowling and swinging toe-crushing yorkers.
Born on June 3, 1966, he is regarded as one of the best left-hand fast bowlers to have graced the sport.
The veteran speedster has four hat-tricks at the highest level, two in Tests and two in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). His ODI hat-tricks came in 1989 and 1990, both at Sharjah. In 1999, he took two hat-tricks in back-to-back Tests against Sri Lanka and helped Pakistan win the Asian Test Championship.
Akram is rated by many as the best left-arm fast bowler of all time. He reached the 500-wicket landmark in ODIs in the 2003 World Cup and he was the first man to achieve the milestone. He has won 17 Man of the Match awards in Test cricket which is the joint-third highest number of awards.
