PM vows to improve transportation from Karachi to Gwadar

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Friday said the pace of development in Gwadar is not satisfactory, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a ceremony at Eastbay Expressway PM Shehbaz said till to date, the project of developing Gwadar Airport has not been completed, adding that the groundwork was laid for the airport way back in 2017-18.

PM said China has developed the Eastbay Expressway of high standard, adding that the facilities related to transport sector will be improved from Karachi to Gwadar.

PM said: “The Chinese President had given the Gwadar Airport as grant, which we (governments) have not completed so far”, adding that for years the project of buying power from Iran has been delayed.

PM Shehbaz said China is catering solar panel to 3200 families in Gwadar, adding that he has directed to complete every project in Gwadar with timeline.

PM Shehbaz said the government is looking to install the solar parks of 100 to 150 megawatt (MW) in Gwadar and its surroundings.

PM Shehbaz said that he has been informed that there is a fear of water scarcity.

PM Shehbaz said the security agencies have been providing the Chinese citizens with best security.

PM further said that he has been told today that the water pipe is very old, adding that in the third phase, work will be done on water pipe.

PM Shehbaz said the development projects in Gwadar have been started, adding that he reviewed the development projects in Gwadar.
