Pakistan Cricket Board’s inept and lethargic approach towards the mega event Pakistan Super League brought another embarrassment to the organisation when a light tower completely goes off at Gaddafi Cricket Stadium during match between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators.
The umpires took all the players out of the field both and the match remained suspended. The organisers tried to put the lights back and few lights returned but the tower again switched off as the fault could not totally removed. Another effort showed only the top part of the tower got lit while many light remained off. And the play resumed with the same after a gap of 15 minutes.
The mismanagement and technical glitches are marring the beautiful event as first the same was seen during the opening ceremony and then the snickometre at National Stadium Karachi was found not working during a match that gave reprieve to Karachi Kings key batsman Babar Azam and made the Gladiators annoyed.
The security level in the stands is also questionable as there were reports of scuffling among the fans and misbehaving with the families at different venues. Some videos are also surfacing on the social media showing male and female spectators involved in unethical activities in the stadium to much annoyance of the people who have questioned whether it is a European stadium or in Pakistan.
