PCG foils smuggling of diesel, cigarette, betel nut worth Rs540m

Pakistan Coast Guard thwarted smuggling of various Iranian and Indian products including diesel worth more than Rs540 million, in different areas on Tuesday.
The Pakistan Coast Guards also arrested eight accused during the actions.
According to PCG, near Winder area, three persons were arrested with a land cruiser and car. They failed to produce documents of the precious vehicles, prompting the officials to seize the vehicles and arrest the three persons.
In another action at Khari Check-post, huge quantity of 55,635 litres of Irani diesel, betel nuts, tyres, Indian cigarette, China salt and other items, being smuggled to Karachi and other parts of Sindh, were seized.
At Badook area, the PCG personnel thwarted the smuggling bid of Iranian diesel and seized 102,500 litres.
The officials informed that the seized items worth more than Rs540 million in the market.
The PCG has been actively engaged to dealing with trafficking of human and goods in coastal areas of Balochistan. It has, since its inception, foiled thousands of smuggling bids of drugs and other goods worth billions of rupees.
