PA to moot wheat procurement, health safety and security on 8th

Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi has summoned a session on May 8 to mull protective measures of lawmakers and assembly staff in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, wheat procurement, law and order. 

Punjab Assembly Secretary Mohammad Khan Bhatti notified the forthcoming session citing the requisition of opposition.

According to the notification, the session has been convened on May 8 at 2pm at its Secretariat.  COVID-19 safety steps, law and order, and wheat procurement will be taken up, it added.

Chairing a meeting of a special body of parliamentary party on coronavirus combat yesterday, the Punjab Assembly speaker stressed the need for taking safety steps.

“It is our responsibility to practice health protection principles. As the patronage of the House, it is my duty to look after the health of the assembly crew.”
