Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif Wednesday proposed to form a parliamentary committee for the accountability of the judiciary.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the minister addressed the National Assembly session on Wednesday and said the unethical interference of the Supreme Court (SC) in the Parliament should be stopped.
Kh Asif said two constitutional institutions of the country have come face to face so a resolution should be passed to form a parliamentary committee to look into the violation of the constitution.
He said whenever the constitution was violated in the past, the judges provided their support by thumbing up it.
The minister said they were against crossing the limits of the institutions so the judiciary should not interfere in the limits of the National Assembly and they [the government] will not violate the limits of the SC.
Defence Minister Kh Asif said there is a contradiction in the interpreters of the Constitution.
He said it is heartening to mourn the state of the judiciary as people were sentenced to hang first and decisions on their cases were announced later.
The federal minister also demanded that all violations of the Constitution since Justice Munir should be investigated.
