JUI-F Secretary-General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri on Tuesday warned that they would get a case registered against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Interior Minister Ijaz Shah and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan if ‘any terrorism act’ was committed at the planned rally in Peshawar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference at Parliament Lodges in Islamabad, Haideri was talking about the public meeting scheduled for November 22 by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) which would be the fourth such event after the opposition’s power shows in Gujranwala, Karachi and Quetta.
The opposition parties, especially the JUI-F and the ANP, have been very critical of the government since the issuance of a security alert before the Quetta rally followed by a bomb blast at a madrasa in Peshawar, accusing it of trying to sabotage the opposition’s movement.
Haideri said the prime minister and his cabinet members as well as the government apparatus were interfering in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly elections to be held on November 15. But, he added, the Election Commission had been showing criminal silence on the issue.
The Election Commission would have to shun negligence, otherwise, the consequences would be serious, he warned.
Haideri said Imran had lost the confidence of the people and the selectors should stop supporting him.
Responding to a question about the recent statement of party leader Hafiz Hussain who criticised PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, the JUI-F secretary-general described his assertions as personal opinion.
Demanding a judicial commission to probe into the Peshawar bombing, target killing of Maulana Adil and the attack on Mufti Abdullah, he said India was an archenemy of Pakistan but foiling her ambitions was a government responsibility.
Meanwhile, differences have emerged between two alliance partners JUI-F and ANP over the question of hosting the Peshawar rally, reported 24NewsHD.
In this connection, a meeting held on Monday could not end the stalemate as the two parties are adamant to enjoy the rights to host the event.
