Ex-governor KP Maj Gen ® Khurshid Ali Khan passes away, CM condoles

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan Wednesday expressed sorrow and grief over the passing of former governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Major General (Retd) Khurshid Ali Khan.
According to the 24 News HD TV channel, Major General (Retd) Khurshid Ali Khan served in KP province as governor during the tenure of prime minister Benazir Bhutto from 1993 to 1996.
His funeral prayers were offered at Wazirabad Dargai in Malakand and buried with full military honours in his ancestral local graveyard.
The body of the deceased army officer was saluted. He was the elder son of the late former Swat Prime Minister Khan Bahadur Hazrat Ali Khan.
Major General (R) Khurshid Ali Khan was the eldest son of Swat State Prime Minister Khan Bahadur Hazrat Ali Khan and was born on October 05, 1933. He was educated at Aitchison College, Lahore.
He got a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul in 1955 and post graduated from Command and Staff College, Quetta in 1967. He obtained a Master degree in Strategic Studies from National Defense College, Rawalpindi in 1975.
His uncle, Khan Bahadur Ahmad Ali Khan was the Commander-in-Chief of the Swat State Army.
He got married to Sujat Begum on March 31, 1956, and have children Naushad Ali Khan, Shandana Khan, and Zainab Khan. His son Naushad Ali Khan is an income tax collector.
