The Punjab School Education Department has decided to allocate a 10 percent service quota to the teachers’ children, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Punjab government is ready to recruit at least 10,000 teachers to fill the vacant seats of the various schools located across the province in the coming months.

The ten percent quota will be given to teachers' sons at the time of recruitment for the vacant posts of teachers. In other words, as many as 1,000 seats will be given to the teacher’s children provided they will be eligible for the posts.

In the current year, the government is going to make 5000 recruitments, of which, children of teachers will be given 500 posts.

In this regard, the service rules will be changed to allocate the quota.

The Secretary Schools Education has prepared recommendations in consultation with the teachers’ unions across Punjab for bringing changes in the service rules.

The summary of the recommendations will be sent to the Chief Minister of Punjab next week for taking his approval. After the approval of the summary, the recruitment process will be started.
