Elahi suspends policemen involved in leaking suspect’s video statement

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Chaudhry Parvez Elahi suspended all the staff including the SHO of the Wazirabad Police Station for leaking the video statement of the accused who fired on Imran Khan.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Punjab CM took strict notice of leaking the video statement of the suspect who opened fire in the long march.
Elahi directed the Inspector General of Punjab Police to take strict disciplinary action against irresponsible officials and ordered of inquiry into the incident of leaking the accused video.
The mobile phones of all the Wazirabad police station staff were seized and a forensic audit of policemen’s mobile phones will be conducted.
The Punjab CM chaired an emergency meeting and reviews the incident of firing. IG Punjab Police, Punjab Assembly Speaker Sabtain Khan, Shafaq Mehmood, MPA Hafiz Amar Yasir, Akhtar Malik, Mian Mehmood ur Rashid, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Commissioner Lahore Division, CCPO Lahore and related officials participated in the meeting.
