Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa administered the oath of Justice Irfan Saadat.
The judges of the Supreme Court, attorney general, and lawyers attended the swearing-in ceremony.

After the elevation of Justice Irfan Saadat to the Supreme Court, the strength of the apex court judges has risen to 16.
It is to be noted that one vacancy is still vacant in the Supreme Court as its full strength should be 17.
On October 20, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) unanimously approved the nomination of Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, Acting Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, as a judge of the Supreme Court.
Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa stated that Justice Irfan Saadat Khan met the stipulated requirement as he was knowledgeable, well-experienced, and versatile had an upright character, and was also the most senior Judge among the chief justices and judges of all the high courts. All the JPC members present in the meeting unanimously approved the nomination, which was also endorsed in writing by the law minister, who was abroad.
