Due to untiring efforts made by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Nawaz Sharif Interchange Bedian Road Underpass in Lahore is almost complete and would be opened for traffic in a few days from now, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Despite the fact that there were heavy rains this monsoon season, still 99 per cent project has been completed in just two months.
Accompanied by Provincial Minister for Housing Azfar Ali Nasir, the chief minister visited the project site early Friday morning and checked the quality of construction of the underpass.
He was told that the tiling of the walls was in its last stages.
He expressed his satisfaction with the quality of work and the speed at which it was going on.
The CM said after opening of the underpass, traffic issues in the area would be resolved permanently as over 120,000 vehicles will pass through it daily.
Commissioner Lahore division and Lahore Development Authority (LDA) DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa and the contractor briefed him about the progress made on the project so far.
Deputy commissioner, DIG operations, CTO, LDA chief engineer and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
