Former federal minister and PML-N leader Mian Javed Latif said on Friday that his party was not being provided a ‘level playing field’ as general elections were only three months away, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, he appealed to judges to fix the hearing of corruption references against the PML-N leaders early so that justice could be done to them.

Latif claimed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan was being given VIP treatment inside the Adiala Jail. “It is unfortunate that he is still being facilitated,” he alleged.

He went on to say that the PTI chairman had been provided costly exercise machines inside the jail, and he was receiving the treatment normally given to special guests of the state. “When we were in jails, we were even kept deprived of fans,” he said, and added, “What an irony that Imran is a blue-eyed boy of some people even when he is in prison.”

Addressing his opponents, Latif said that if they were showing to the PML-N their muscles, it was nothing new for the party. “If this is the situation, would you please tell us as to who had masterminded the May 9 attacks?” the PML-N leader questioned.

In an apparent reference to PTI chairman, former federal minister said it was crystal clear whose sit-in had resulted in the delay of Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan in 2014, and who had ‘sold’ Kashmir to India.

“Is not it a reality that it was former ISI chief General Faiz Hameed who had masterminded the Faizabad sit-in?” he questioned.

PML-N leader said that it had been alleged ahead of general elections in 2018 that former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had deposited amounts in the Indian bank accounts. “But there was no explanation from the accuser afterwards,” he added.
