The police have arrested a five-member dacoits group also known as ‘Chhalawa Gang’ involved in street crime from West District Karachi on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to officials, the Sarjani police arrested the Chhalawa Gang accused in an operation near Rosi Morr.

According to Sub-Inspector Amjad Kiyani, the accused used to rob houses and target citizens, college and university students who were leaving the bank with money.

The leader of the gang, Hashim alias Jumbo, used to enter the bank on any pretext and keep an eye on the withdrawers and inform his accomplices about it.

Police recovered weapons, snatched mobile phones, laptops, wallets, cash and other valuables from the possession of the accused.

The process of identifying the accused in more incidents of street crime and robbery is going on, said police.

Among the arrested accused, Hashim alias Jambo, Sohail, Mustafa, Habeel and Arshad are included.
