Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shahbaz Gill on Sunday said that PM Imran Khan has no offshore company, reported 24News HD TV channel.
Talking to journalists in Faisalabad, Gill said the PM has no association with a person named Fariduddin, adding, “The prime minister neither engages in such activities and nor does he spare anyone who does." He said PM did not personally know the man, not had ever met him or his father.
He said the PM had already given details of every penny in the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the courts had already declared him as Sadiq and Ameen. “He also told about an offshore company which had been used in the past,” he added.
He said the government believed in transparency and rule of law. “The federal ministers and special assistants had also submitted details of assets in the courts,” he mentioned.
He said, “Two houses in Zaman Park have the same address. Both the houses are half a kilometer away. The owner of the offshore company will answer for it himself.”
It is pertinent to mention here that two offshore companies named on Fariduddin were registered at the address of Zaman Park. "So this is in response to all those who are trying to spread misinformation," he said.
Gill's remarks come as an exposé pertaining to offshore companies under the name "PandoraPapers" is set to be released today.
Several Pakistanis are reportedly to be on the Pandora Papers that a consortium of investigative journalists is going to release on Sunday (today).
