The National Apex Committee meeting on the law and order situation convened by interim Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has concluded, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The meeting which was held at PM House in Islamabad and presided over by the prime minister was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, the chief ministers of four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

High-ranking security officials also attended the summit.

Overall law and order situation in the country and progress on the National Action Plan were reviewed in the meeting.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir said that the life and property of a Pakistani citizen were more important than any interest or country.

During the Apex Committee meeting, the army chief said that the welfare of a Pakistani citizen was more important than any worldly interest.

Important decisions were taken with regard to the national security situation during the meeting.

The meeting participants were briefed regarding the investigation of terrorist attacks in the country. Prevention of smuggling and other matters were also discussed.

The huddle also made important decisions about launching a crackdown on illegal immigrants.

The declaration of the meeting decisions will be released in a bit.

Minister of Interior Sarfraz Bugti and Information Minister Murtaza Solangi will hold a presser soon to apprise the media of the decisions taken during the apex committee meeting.

PM Kakar, General Asim Munir hold talks

Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir called on interim Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar at PM House on Tuesday ahead of the meeting of the National Apex Committee.

The prime minister welcomed the army chief and held a meeting with him.

Both exchanged views on a string of issues including national security matters.

PM Kakar had convened a National Apex Committee meeting days ago to discuss the law and order situation. Overall law and order situation in the country and progress on the National Action Plan will be reviewed, it was reported then.
