The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has confirmed another two polio cases in Pakistan, setting alarm bells ringing over the rise.
According to the NEOC, the total number of polio cases in Pakistan this year has increased to 28.
The fresh cases have been reported from the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Zhob district of Balochistan, the NEOC said.
The total number of polio cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has increased to 3 and in Balochistan 16, the centre said.
Focal Person to PM on Polio Ayesha Raza Farooq said the nationwide polio campaign will commence on October 28.
She urged parents to ensure their participation in the upcoming anti-polio drive.
