Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have arranged a crucial meeting to discuss the current political landscape and the proposed constitutional amendment.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, JI Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman will lead a delegation to Zardari House in Islamabad today to meet PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The JI delegation will include prominent leaders such as Liaqat Baloch, Firasat Shah, and Salman Shaikh.
During the meeting, the two sides will engage in detailed discussions on the country’s political situation and the pressing matter of the constitutional amendment, which needs to be addressed before October 25.
The amendment is crucial, as PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari recently emphasised the importance of completing this process before October 25 to avoid complications.
In his media interaction yesterday, Bilawal warned that if the amendments are delayed beyond October 25, there may be challenges similar to the ones encountered during the 19th Amendment.
Bilawal added that the PPP aims to ensure a peaceful resolution and will not let the constitutional court issue remain unresolved.
Additionally, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman is expected to formally invite the PPP to participate in Jamaat-e-Islami’s Gaza March, set for October 7.
