In a special meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz it was decided in principle to start Chief Minister School Meal Program in Jhelum.
The Chief Minister directed to ensure standard arrangements for milk storage for school meal program.
It was decided in principle to define a fool-proof system for evaluating the performance of school teachers and in this regard the Chief Minister sought monthly "KPI" plan to evaluate performance of teachers.
The CM instructed deputy commissioners to monitor schools under the Punjab School Reforms Program.
The meeting decided to introduce "Theme of the Month" in government schools.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also sought a comprehensive plan for up-gradation of IT labs in schools of Punjab.
The meeting approved to establish a Centers of Excellence for Early Child Education in all the districts.
In the meeting, a report was submitted on selection of CEO, District Education Officer and Deputy District Education Officer.
During the meeting, proposals for formation of school management cadre was also reviewed.
In the meeting, curriculum development issues were also reviewed in collaboration with Camridge and others and hiring private experts for spoken English were also approved.
The meeting gave approval to hire "Volunteer of University" to meet shortage of teachers.
A pilot project to provide fortified biscuits and buns to students under the World Food Programme was also considered in the meeting.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that corrupt elements will not be tolerated in the education department.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said steps will be taken to improve the quality of matriculation education.

The meeting was briefed that enrollment increased by 20,000 since the start of the school meal program.
