Another BRT bus catches fire in Peshawar

Another bus of the Bus Transit Rapid (BRT) caught fire in Hayatabad area of Peshawar on Wednesday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Rescue 1122 said a bus of the BRT caught fire in Hayatabad, after which fire brigade vehicles were rushed there and the blaze was extinguished within minutes. No casualty was reported in the incident.

Earlier on August 26, a metro bus caught fire also in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area. Rescue 1122 firefighters extinguished the fire shortly afterwards. A spokesperson for the KP government Kamran Bangash said the fire erupted on the roof of the bus and it was contained within minutes.

It is pertinent to mention that Peshawar BRT service was inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on August 14. As many as 128 buses ply the 27-kilometre BRT track at 30 stations across the city.
