Dacoits have attacked a police checkpost within the jurisdiction of Sarki police station in Tangwani, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The exchange of fire between the police and the dacoits is going on, police sources said.
An additional police force has been called. The police have launched a search operation in the area.
People have been confined to their houses as the area has been turned into a battlefield.
