Protesters burnt tyres and blocked the main highway leading to Chakri Interchange Rawalpindi against the inflated electricity bills, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Due to the closure of the road, long queues of vehicles were formed while vehicles going towards the motorway were also stuck.

The protesters were demanding immediate withdrawal of the increase in electricity bills.
