Gujranwala police arrest ‘child trafficker’

Police on Saturday claimed to have nailed a man involved in child trafficking in the Gujranwala district of Punjab.

According to police, accused Asad kidnapped five-year-old Abu Bakar five days ago and sold him to an issueless couple for Rs60,000.

Addressing a press conference, SP Investigation Abdul Rauf said the lawmen arrested the seller and buyer and secured the release of the abductee.

The police handed over the child to his parents after legal formalities. The arrested are Asad, Rafaqat Ali and his wife and investigation is underway.
