Members of the Senate Committee on Health on Thursday submitted a no-trust motion against committee Chairman Humayun Mohmand of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The motion, bearing the signatures of senators Behramand Tangi, Sana Jamali, Shafeeq Tarin and Jam Mehtab, alleged that the chairman had overruled a motion by going beyond his powers. “Two bills namely PMDC and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences were under consideration of the committee. But despite insistence by the members, the chairman did not allow voting on these bills,” read the motion.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla said that the committee members no longer trusted Mohmand.
He accused the PTI of playing with the future of doctors.
