Four children lost their lives in two separate incidents in Islamabad during a rainstorm, highlighting the critical need for safety measures during extreme weather conditions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
In the first incident, two children tragically lost their lives after being electrocuted during a rainstorm. The sad incident took place in the F-11 sector, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Shalimar Police Station Islamabad.
According to reports, the children were playing in a field filled with rainwater when a live electric wire fell into the water.
The contact between the water and the live wire created a fatal situation for the children.
The victims were identified as eight-year-old Ghulam and five-year-old Waqas. Both children were immediately affected by the electric shock and succumbed to their injuries.
The local police took the bodies of the deceased children into custody and shifted them to the hospital for further procedures.
In another incident, two more children drowned in stagnant rainwater in the Bahria Enclave area.
The victims were identified as ten-year-old Sahil and twelve-year-old Wisal.
The children were playing in the rainwater when they tragically drowned.
Despite efforts to save them, both children were pronounced dead. Their bodies were later handed over to their grieving families.
