No letup for Lahorites who are breathing toxic air

Lahore still retains the second position in the index of most polluted cities with its AQ level reaching 255 today putting the health of its citizens at risk who are breathing toxic air, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Neighbouring India’s city New Delhi again topped the list sticking to the position of most polluted city in the world with its air pollution level recorded at 335.
Karachi ranked fourth with its Air Quality level at 183.
The AQ level in different areas of Lahore is recorded as follows: US Consulate 411, DHA Phase VIII 409, Johar Town 267, The Mall 372, Shimla Hill 318, and Garden Town 351.
Though December has come, the city is yet to experience the extreme frigid conditions.
Experts are of the view that the metropolitan city is witnessing changes in weather patterns due to large-scale development activities.
According to the metrological department report, there is no chance of rain in the next 24 hours and the city weather will remain misty.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 11C and the maximum temperature will reach 23C today.

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.
Smog/fog is likely in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Sindh during morning and night.

Cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while partly cloudy/cold weather in the upper parts.
