Blind Cricket World Cup champions rewarded with Rs10m

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday hosted the Blind Cricket World Cup-winning team, presenting them with a cheque of Rs10 million to celebrate their historic achievement.

The ceremony, held at the PCB office, Qaddafi Stadium, saw the national team honored for their exceptional performance in the tournament, where they remained undefeated, winning all seven matches. 

Along with the reward for the players, an additional Rs20 million covering event expenses was also disbursed via cheque.

 Speaking at the event, Naqvi lauded the team’s determination and success, stating, “You have made the nation proud with your exceptional performance. “Winning all matches in the tournament is a remarkable feat.”

Expressing immense pride in the team’s accomplishment, Mohsin Naqvi commended the players for their outstanding performance and acknowledged their dedication and perseverance that led to this historic moment.

He also emphasized the PCB's commitment to supporting cricket across all levels and categories, including the Under-19, Pakistan Shaheens, women’s cricket, and blind cricket. 

“We will ensure full support for all teams and provide any assistance they need,” he affirmed.

Looking ahead, Naqvi expressed optimism about upcoming major tournaments, including the Champions Trophy, adding, “We pray for continued success for Pakistan in these events.”
