Jamaat-i-Islami leader and former MPA Sabir Hussain Awan has been arrested from the courtroom in Peshawar in connection with a murder case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Peshawar Additional Sessions Judge heard the case on Thursday.
The JI leader is accused of killing a man over a property dispute. He had filed a bail application against 302 murder case against him but the court rejecting his bail petition ordered his arrest.
It is pertinent to note that Sabir Hussain Awan had stepped down as Peshawar president of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in the wake of his party’s defeat in the NA-4 by-election against PTI’s Arbab Amir Ayub held on October 26, 2017.
