An accountability court (AC) in Karachi on Saturday allowed Dr. Asim Hussain, former adviser to the prime minister on oil and natural resources, to travel abroad for treatment purposes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Asim would now be able to seek treatment from abroad from February 15 to March 31.
According to the reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in 2016, Asim caused to the national exchequer the loss of Rs17 billion in gas contracts.
The court also reserved the verdict on the petition, seeking return of the case to the NAB.
The court will now pronounce the decision on February 15.
The court then adjourned the case’s hearing until February 15.
