Punjab Cabinet gives approval for upgradation of Bab-e-Azadi Wahga Border

The Punjab Cabinet has approved the release of funds for the expansion and redesign project of Bab-e-Azadi and Parade Ground of Wahga Boarder, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing the 39th meeting of Punjab Cabinet on Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Bab-e-Azadi will be upgraded to the style of Lahore Fort.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the entrance gate will be designed on the pattern of the Alamgiri Gate of the Shahi Fort.

The Chief Minister instructed for installation of large LCDs to show the parade at Bab-e-Azadi.

With the expansion of the parade ground, better facilities will be provided and the parking area will be made more spacious, said Mohsin Naqvi.

During Cabinet meeting, the CM was briefed that after the upgradation, the seating capacity of the parade ground will increase to around 18,000 people.

The height of Bab-e-Azadi project will be around 120 feet.

The cabinet also gave approval of contract with Bank Al Falah for remodeling of Liberty Chowk and South Asia's largest national flag.

The cabinet also gave approval of funds for the construction and expansion of Lahore Metrobus service corridor.

Moreover, Punjab Cabinet gave approval of nomination of new board members of Bank of Punjab with approval of Government of Punjab policy for allotment of government residences 2023 and approval of extension of Speedo bus service contract from Bahawalpur to Lodhran.

The cabinet also gave approval of supply of wheat and flour by Food Department to Jails Department in the meeting.

In the meeting, the decisions of the 14th meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Legal Affairs and Privatization and the 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th meetings of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Law and Order were approved.

Provincial Ministers, Advisors, Chief Secretary, Advocate General Punjab, Inspector General Police, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Chairman Planning and Development Board and secretaries of concerned departments attended the meeting.
