Another case of abuse of power by federal capital police surfaced on Monday.

A social media video showing another Islamabad policeman, ASI Bahadar, being involved in the abuse of power, went viral.

The footage showed ASI Bahadar flagged down two ‘suspicious’ youngsters and shot fires to terrorize theme. Reportedly, the ASI claimed that he had a tip-off that they were carrying drugs but nothing was found on them.

The DIG (Operations) took notice and ordered SP industrial area Zubair to dig into the incident. The probe resulted in the dismissal of Bahadar from the police job as he was proved guilty.

The police abuse of power came to spotlight after five capital Counter-Terrorism Department cops were arrested and a case registered against them on charges of killing a 21-year-old man in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to the FIR lodged by Nadeem Satti, the victim’s father, his son Osama had a quarrel with officials of the capital police a day earlier who had threatened him with dire consequences.

On Jan 2, police officials fired shots straight at Osama when he was coming back after dropping his friend in H-11, killing him on the spot. The accused policemen claimed the youth was a terror suspect.

The police high-ups claim that they have arrested the accused and started legal proceedings against them.
