Punjab government has notified implementation of Single National Curriculum in the province from next academic year after the approval of federal and provincial governments, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Punjab Text Book Board issued a notification of SNC and model textbooks, the TV channel reported.
Nursery to the Grade-5 single national curriculum will be implemented in all public and private educational institutions and religious schools while District Education Authorities will be bound to implement SNC in all schools, the TV channel reported.
It is pertinent to note that the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board last week arranged a launching ceremony of Single National Curriculum (SNC) Phase-I Grades Pre I-V and 30 Model Textbooks and SNC Phase-II Grades VI-VIII.
Minister for School Education Dr Murad Raas was the chief guest of the ceremony.
The minister said that the SNC is a step towards one system of education for all in terms of curriculum, the medium of instruction and a common platform of assessment so all children could have a fair and equal opportunity to get high quality education.
He lauded the efforts rendered by the federal government, School Education Department and PCTB.
