The former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz departed for Geneva – Switzerland from London, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.
According to the sources, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, senior vice president of PML-N will stay in Geneva for one week. They flew from Heathrow airport Wednesday afternoon on a Swiss flight along with two other members of the family.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also be visiting Geneva to co-host the International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan along with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on January 9.
The conference is meant to serve as a platform to marshal international support for Pakistan's flood-affected population.
The sources mentioned that PML-N Quaid and his daughter will go sightseeing and also have meetings scheduled during the trip.
Sharif will also meet his doctor, the sources added.
However, it was learnt that Nawaz will also meet with PM Shehbaz, who is expected to reach the Swiss city on Sunday.
In November, Nawaz Sharif along with other family members had paid a visit to Europe from London from November 21 to 30. It was Sharif’s first international trip after three years of stay in London.
It is pertinent to mention here that the federal government on November 10 issued a diplomatic passport to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
