Election Tribunal approves Sheikh Rashid’s nomination papers

An Election Tribunal in Rawalpindi on Thursday approved the nomination papers of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad from National Assembly constituencies of NA-56 and NA-57, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The AML chief filed an appeal in the tribunal after his nomination papers were rejected by the returning officer.
Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench Judge Justice Mirza Waqas heard Sheikh Rashid’s appeal and accepted it.
The returning officers of Rawalpindi also appeared before the court. Lawyers Sardar Abdul Razaq and Sardar Shehbaz appeared in the court on behalf of Sheikh Rashid.
The LHC judge approved the nomination papers of Sheikh Rashid after hearing arguments from both sides.
