Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas said that if the situation improved then schools will be reopened from August 15 in phases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He made the announcement in a statement issued on Saturday. The minister said, “It will not be allowed to hold all classes at once and the classes will be conducted in phases.”
“In the first phase, the necessary classes will be allowed. As many as 20 children will be allowed to sit in one class at a time,” the minister clarified about how many children can sit in one classroom following the SOPs.
Murad Raas said, “Can't allow schools to open from July 15.”
The minister said he is meeting with the parents and affected students of LGS issue on Monday. “I hope that written requests will be received from the students on Monday,” said the education minister.
Earlier, All Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) President Kashif Mirza addressing a press conference demanded the government to reopen schools and claimed that SOPs had been prepared in this regard to protect students and teachers from coronavirus.
Private schools also assured full cooperation to the government for implementation of SOPS in schools.
