Former Australia lock Kane Douglas has signed a one-year deal with La Rochelle, the Top 14 club announced on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old, who played 31 Tests for the Wallabies including the 2015 World Cup final against New Zealand, was out of contract with Bordeaux-Begles, his club since 2018.
Douglas' last appearance for Bordeaux-Begles was as a second-half replacement in last week's Top 14 final defeat to Toulouse.
The move takes Douglas 180 kilometres north up the Atlantic coast and unites him with another Wallaby lock Will Skelton who has signed a contract extension that will keep the 32-year-old with the club until 2028.
Another Australian, hooker Tolu Latu, who played at the 2019 World Cup, joined La Rochelle from Montpellier in December and has signed a one-year extension to keep him at the club until the end of next season.
La Rochelle have offered extensions to a number of other players including France back-rower Paul Boudehent, Samoa centre UJ Seuteni and former Ireland lock/flanker Ultan Dillane.
