Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday inaugurated balloting for at least 2,000 low cost houses in Farash Town, Islamabad under the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Spokesperson for the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme Asim Shaukat Ali said that the price of a 800 square feet house had been set at Rs3200,800.

“The government will provide a cost subsidy of Rs300,000 for each house,” he stated.

“In the first phase of the scheme, Prime Minister Imran Khan has inaugurated the balloting for 2,000 low cost houses,” he added.

“The successful people will have to pay only Rs13,000 under mark-up subsidy instead of Rs38,000 as monthly installment,” he said.

“They will be able to get their own houses instead of paying rents on a monthly basis,” he added.

“2,000 people out of 8,700 will be able to get houses in the first phase of the balloting,” he said and added that a 800 square feet house for only Rs3.2 million was no less than a blessing.
