Centre set to burden people with Rs335b

The federal government met another condition of the IMF, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

According to sources, the federal cabinet has approved an additional burden of Rs 335 billion on the people by imposing a Rs3.24 per unit surcharge.

They said the additional surcharge will be applicable from July 1 for 2023-24 and it will also apply to K-electric customers.

Additional surcharge will be levied on domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers, they added.
