A Pakistani boxer disappeared after stealing money from a woman colleague in Italy, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

In an interview, Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) Secretary Nasir Tung confirmed that national boxer Zohaib Rasheed had stolen 250 ponds from the bag of a fellow female boxer and fled.

Zohaib Rasheed has been missing since yesterday, he said, adding that the boxer did not show up for his first fight and the other contestant was given a walk-over in the 51 kg category.

The PBF secretary said a report has been lodged with the police. Zohaib took 250 pounds (about 88 thousand Pakistani rupees) in the bag of the female boxer.

Zohaib Rashid won a bronze medal at the 2022 Asian Championships and has a history of shining at junior-level contests.
