The process of bringing the stranded Pakistanis back to the country is in full swing, as special flight of SriLankan Airlines carrying 40 passengers landed in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD on Monday.

The Flight No UL-1185 landed at the Jinnah International Airport after flying from Colombo from the where the people returning home are to be sent to quarantine after the completion of necessary procedure.

The plane is scheduled to leave for Lahore after carrying the Sri Lankan nationals and some Italian diplomats.

Meanwhile, six more foreign diplomats – three Sri Lankans, two Italians and one Afghan – will also board the flight before it returns to Colombo.

According to reports, five Pakistani cricketers, who were stranded in Sri Lanka, were also among those landing in Karachi.

A total of ten Pakistani cricketers, who came to Sri Lanka to play club cricket, had stuck in the island nation due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, the first batch of five had left for Pakistan last week.

Earlier on Friday, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had allowed the SriLankan Airlines to operate this special flight on the abovementioned route.

However, the crewmembers are not allowed to leave the plane at both airports as part of the procedure adopted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
