Fed up with ever-increasing debt, a man has been arrested in Karachi for demanded bhatta (extortion money) from his dear friend, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to police, the extortionist was arrested from Liaquatabad and later during interrogation turned out to be the fast friend of the complainant.
Accused Dilawar had a business relationship with the plaintiff Shehryar for years and even owed him 0.4 million rupees.
In his statement given to the police, the accused confessed that he had borrowed Rs400,000 from his friend Shehryar who later was demanding his money back but he was not able to return it.
The accused further said that when his friend forced him to return his money, he then contacted Faisal of Lyari gang who demanded Rs20 million from Shehryar as extortion.
The police said that investigation of the case has been completed and police are raiding to arrest Faisal.
