International Cricket Council (ICC) nominated Pakistani attacking batsman Asif Ali for Player of the Month for October along with 2 other players for showcasing sublime performances in ICC T20 World Cup, reported 24NewsHD TV on Thursday.
Asif Ali, the aggressive batsman of the Pakistan national cricket team, played two cameos to knock over both the oppositions, New Zealand and Afghanistan. In the game against New Zealand, Asif Ali made 27 runs off 12 balls.
In the next match, Asif smoked four sixes in an over against Afghanistan to lead Pakistan to a glorious victory in which he scored 25 runs off 7 balls.
Moreover, along with Asif Ali, ICC also nominated star all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan from Bangladesh and David Wiese from Namibia.
Earlier, before the start of the Pakistan T20 World Cup campaign, there were many reservations from the fans and the cricket experts regarding the inclusion of Asif Ali for the mega-event. But, Asif came as a different story in the world cup, by proving the critics wrong.
