United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator Julien Harneis called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Friday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, PM Shehbaz informed Julien Harneis about the worst floods in the history of the country due to climate change and its permanent effects on the lives of the Pakistanis.
The PM also highlighted the government's rescue and relief operations and measures for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.
He told Julian Harneis that Pakistan, which is already struggling with economic problems, is facing losses of more than 40 billion dollars due to floods.
The Prime Minister also thanked United Nations Secretary-General Antonio, who not only visited the flood-affected areas in Pakistan but also became the voice of Pakistanis all over the world.
In the meeting, Julian Harneis expressed sympathy with the Pakistani flood victims and reiterated the full support of the United Nations in their rehabilitation.
He also called the Pakistani government's timely rescue, aid and rehabilitation measures exemplary.
