Barrister Salman Safdar, counsel for former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, on Monday said that now when courts’ decisions were awaited only in a few cases against his client, it was expected that he would be acquitted in all cases in November, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, he said that a notice had been issued to the FIA on the post-arrest bail petition of Imran, and he hoped there would be further hearing of the case next week. “Already Bushra Bibi, PTI founder’s wife, has been granted bail in Toshakhana-II reference,” he said.

Safdar said that it was a common practice that when cases were filed, the defendants were later granted bail. “Already the former prime minister has been granted bail in Toshakhana, the US cipher, Iddat and May 9 cases,” he said, adding, “When cases are filed, there should be evidence to prove that these are genuine.”

But the fact was, he went on to say, there were no difficulties in securing Imran’s bail in different cases because they had been filed without any proof.
